Adopt A School
AXA Insurance plc have long been associated with Westhouthon High School. In recent years their support for the school's mentoring programme has shifted its focus. |
Previously, employees volunteer to be part of the mentoring programme and after completeing a CRB check and training they would visit their 'mentee' in school on a monthly basis. Logistically this became problematical and so AXA proposed an alternative.
The current programme focusses on selected Year 11 students studying for GCSEs.
Teachers bus the students to the local AXA office where they spend around 90 minutes working with their mentors on specific topics such as, organisation skills, revision techniques and stress reduction. |
