World Of Work Student Conferences

In partnership with Aimhigher, Bolton & Bury EBP coordinate a series of student conferences based on Diplomas. The aim is to provide Year 9 students with an opportunity to gain an insight into the world of work based on specifc diploma lines. The conferences will be helpful to students who are considering the diploma option in Year 10.

Sports & Active Leisure - 15th January 2010
Creative Arts and Media - 3rd March 2010
Science & Technology - 25th March 2010

Facilitators are given the opportunity to work with students who have an interest in their particular specialist area. The students have the opportunity to experience a wide variety of workshops with facilitators offering a series of interactive demonstrations. Here Alan Parlane from the University of Manchester demonstrates why dipping your hand into liquid nitrogen (-196 C.) is not as crazy as it sounds! Students in this workshop went on to make ice-cream with liquid nitrogen as the freezing agent.
